Student Accessibility Services

Access for All

UMKC is committed to ensuring that all students, including those with disabilities, have equal access to:

Engage fully in academic and extracurricular activities

Access course materials and resources in an equitable manner

Benefit from university services and opportunities free of discrimination

Accommodation Plans

We're leveling the playing field for students with disabilities. This is where you apply to establish your accommodation plan to access the same learning opportunities as your peers, and where faculty can find the resources they need to support their students.

Students

Students with a documented need for academic, housing, dietary, religious or other accommodation may apply for an accommodation plan, which covers all semesters while enrolled at UMKC. Students may also request temporary accommodation, including for pregnancy, for up to a semester.

Faculty

It's your responsibility to coordinate with your students on how to implement their accommodations in your classroom and other learning environments. We'll help you understand the accommodation plan process and provide guidelines to pave the way for academic success for all your students.
